Dear Town Meeting Member,

Thank you for your time and service to Lexington. We are writing to make you aware of serious concerns regarding 231 Bedford Street which has a proposal set forth to replace a 2,500 square foot small neighborhood business with a 17,000 square foot residential building which has a flood history and is close to the North Lexington Brook.

The Applicant is requesting a waiver from the Conservation Commission to build throughout the 50 Foot “No Build Zone” to the 25 Foot Wetlands Buffer, close to the North Lexington Brook, the source of flooding.

The project has had 2 Planning Board Hearings and 2 Conservation Commission Hearings.

We are asking for your support in writing to the Conservation Commission in opposition to granting the waiver:   conservationcomm@lexingtonma.gov, kmullins@lexingtonma.gov, and mdowner@lexingtonma.gov.

For more information, please see the attached group letter and why we feel strongly opposed to granting the waiver. Three pictures of the North Lexington Brook (NLB) from Dec 2023, at lower Ledgelawn Ave, are also attached.

The next Conservation Meeting is on Monday, 12/16 at 6:30pm on Zoom.  The link will be posted on ConCom Agenda Center by Friday, 12/13: https://www.lexingtonma.gov/AgendaCenter/Conservation-Commission-CONCOM-5/?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully,

Sumitra Sujanani on behalf of 64 Concerned Lexington Residents

Residents' Concerns

- Most if not all butters of the neighborhood were unaware of the rezoning, and only found out from the developer's letter to abutters.

- Residents are asking for (written) responses to questions that they've asked but have not received them.

- Concerned that some of the materials that have been sent in aren't getting to the PB/Con Comm members.
